Land & Sea Wedding Invitation
Cory from the ever so elegant, Loluma Events, came to me to help create the custom stationery for bride and groom, Stephanie and Ryan, who are planning a Summer wedding on Kiawah Island. Stephanie has been coming to the Lowcountry Island for years and while she loves the beach, the Lowcountry land, with it’s Live Oak trees draped with Spanish Moss, held just a special place in her heart, so we set to work creating a custom graphic that equally evokes the Land and Sea features of the Lowcountry that she loves so much.

Here’s a closer look at the custom monogram graphic which incorporates the Live Oak tree and Scallop shell:

Carolina Classic Script
We’re still working on putting together the Classics Collection which will be a small collection of semi-custom 5×7 invitations which will {hopefully} launch later this year. Here is a look at the all-script calligraphy invitation that will be included in the collection.

Boone Hall Invitation
I love love love Boone Hall Plantation, so I was excited when Cindy, from Engaging Events, called me about coming up with a design for her client’s, Arielle and Ret, who are planning a Spring wedding there. Arielle wanted to incorporate a classic Live Oak which epitomizes the plantation to her, but she also wanted to pull in a soft wrought iron element as it further evokes the Lowcountry and the beautiful gates of the old house at Boone Hall. We designed the suite in a palette of champagne and plum and also created a custom hand-drawn map that shows the guest accommodations, wedding ceremony location and the families favorite beach spot!

Papel de Picado!
Bride and groom, Laurel and Daniel, came to me through fab event planner, Cindy with Engaging Events. They were looking for a creative, yet soft and pretty way of incorporating “Cinco de Mayo” into their May 5th Lowcountry wedding. I learned quite a bit about the traditional Papel de Picado which are traditionally hung at Mexican celebrations. I also gained quite a bit of respect for those artists that create true punched out Papel. They are extremely complicated banners with the negative space punched out. We created a little more stylized versions. There are three flags – one each for their names, date and location. We’re also wrapping the invitation in a “Papel de Picado belt.” Also, Laurel and Cindy introduced me to this amazing Etsy Artisan: AyMujer. Just had to share his amazing work!
As always, email me for a closer look at the design!
Southern Steeple Wedding Invitations
The lovely ladies over at Sweetgrass Social called me up to help out with their bride, Bridgette, who is planning an Autumn wedding in Charleston. Bridgette, who loves everything Charleston, wanted to incorporate the Steeple of St. Phillips Church, where she is getting married. So we incorporated the steeple into our Sweet Southern Vintage Invitation. I love seeing this design worked up in her sweet palette of light blues and yellows!

So Classic & Southern
If I had to choose one flower that epitomizes the South for me, I’d have to choose the Southern Magnolia. It’s big and fragrant, yet so simple and uncomplicated. It also doesn’t really like to be picked. Anyone that has reached up high enough on a Southern Magnolia and plucked one of this beauties, knows it quickly browns anywhere fingers touch. It likes right were it is and is happiest when it stays connected to it’s roots. Okay – maybe my analysis has gone a smidgen too far, but I love these flowers. I grew up with them in my back yard and I love incorporating them into my designs. So, I loved putting together bride, Corey’s, invitation suite which she wanted to be clean and classic, while still bringing in a little “Southern Prettiness.”

We’re printing in all black on creamy Pearl stock for the invitation and we’re flat printing a booklet style Save the Date to incorporate a map with directions to Magnolia Plantation, where the wedding will be taking place. How crazy perfect!
Charleston Wrought Iron
Yet another variation on our Iron and Wine invitation suite.

Charleston Row Houses
A few weeks back I posted the Little Love House Save the Date I came up with for Caroline and Victor Spring wedding. We’ve just finished up their invitation design. We’re printing in the same soft dove grey and pulling in a peachy-pink candy striped liner to the inner envelope.

Baby tree Announcement
The Roden’s are welcoming their fourth here soon and mom, Carrie, contacted me a few months back with a darling design idea! She wanted a silhouette of her three children welcoming the newest baby bundle! We designed the three children around a baby basket hanging from a tree branch – love it! We’re printing the piece on soft bamboo stock with a pic of the newest bundle of joy softly printed on the back.

Calligraphy and kraft
I’m just so in love with this invitation suite. Well, I’m in love with anything Mrs. Elizabeth Porcher Jones does with us! Here, we had her hand-write the invitation on the diagonal. The result is so fluid and lively! We’re printing in a soft kraft color to match the exterior envelope which will be hand-addressed in white ink. We also designed a custom stamp which was inspired by a vintage state stamp from 1967.

Sweetheart Suite
A quick peak at another design for the growing Classics Collection. We hope to launch the Classics collection by this Spring! The line will be semi-custom and ready to order at incredible letterpress prices!

Wrought Iron Wedding Invitation
Again I’m teaming up with the lovely ladies at Mac & Murphy Stationery shop here in Charleston. Here’s the design we just finished for our “Spoleto Gate” inspired save the date we did a few weeks ago. I am so fond of how wrought iron illustrations come out when letterpressed. This one is going to be so fun to print!

here’s the corresponding save the date:

Art Deco Wedding Invitations
I have so many amazing new designs to post but just can’t find the time! Things are moving at the speed of light around here as we bustle through fall weddings and a handful of amazing print jobs. We also had a new addition to the press family – a 10×15 Old Style which arrived last week! Pics to come! In the mean time feast your eyes on this perfectly Art Deco wedding suite we just designed for bride, Chloe. Chloe is getting married at Lowndes Grove Plantation on New Years eve and is planning a classic Art Deco inspired bash!

Live Oak and Banner Save the Date
Working again with the ladies at Mac & Murphy: here’s a simply sweet Save the Date we just worked up for delightful bride, Meagan.

Fleur De Lis Wedding Invitation
When bride, Clair, and I first started conceptualizing her wedding invitation we decided to use the flower that inspired the fleur de lis: the iris. After trying to work the fleur de lis into the design, we ended up scratching the iris all together to go with it’s stylized counterpart. I love the Fleur-de-lis! I also love what we’ve finally come up with here! We are printing the swirly fleur-de-lis behind the text in a soft pool blue on a 6.5×6.5 card. I can’t wait to print this one!
